Summary of 2019

The year 2019 was very intense. A lot of remarkable and stressful moments.

At the beginning of this year, the development of Fantastic Fetus started. It was one of the most accurate dev time I ever had, thanks to those guys Thomas, Michael and, Sebastian! Fantastic Fetus reached dozens of thousands of people who otherwise wouldn't know about problems we have in Poland with the reproduction laws. This small game achieved so much, it is even hard to believe (reception, exhibitions, contests). Now I am nominated to the very prestigious Politica newspaper award as the first woman in my category. The whole Fantastic journey is described in Fetopedia which is part of Fantastic Fetus: Prebirth special edition if you are interested.

I visited more beautiful places than throughout my whole life:
Slovenia, Ljubliana (Slovenian Game Conference); Ukraine, Kiev (Games Gathering); The Czech Republic, Brno (Game Access); Austria, Vienna; Austria, Graz (Game Dev Days, Button Festival); Austria, Tirol; Germany, Berlin (A MAZE); Poland, Krakow (Digital Dragons); Poland, Łódź (Igrzyska Wolności); Poland, Warsaw; Poland, Poznań (Game Industry Conference).

I run away to the wild Tirolian Alps to write my Ph.D. thesis (topic: The game with extraversion measurement elements). Now I am only waiting for my defense and I will be totally free! Thanks to Krystian Mucha for coding support, my Father for music, and all the people who took part in my research as participants. My goal for the upcoming year is to push further this project! You can follow this project in my Fantastic Humans itch.io site.

Together with Pigmentum game studio, we were working on a funny mix of Paper's, Please, and Tinder named Australia is a Lie! I am pretty excited about the next steps.

The shades of 2019 were my financial problems. My school decided to not support me moneywise ( because real traditional artists need that support more apparently). I couldn't start a full-time job as long as my Ph.D. was not done. Luckily for me, I have good people around me who helped to find small jobs and supported me. When I have finished my Ph.D. thesis I could start a full-time job. Looking for a job is very stressful. Even if I was reaching the last steps of the recruitment process always somebody else got a job. I started to lose faith in myself. But finally, at the end of last year, I found a great job in the city of my dreams!  I am so excited, and scared about the upcoming adventure!

Finally, I am in the place in my life where I always wanted to be. The future is bringing new possibilities as well as new challenges.
